WHITSUNDAY businesses have until September 30 to have their say on the impact of rising power bills.

The Queensland Electricity Users Network established the survey across the Whitsundays, Southern Downs, Mt Isa, Mareeba and other regional areas to monitor the cost of power.

To date, about 89 surveys have been completed by Whitsunday businesses.

QUEN co-ordinator Jennifer Brownie said while more than 500 responses had been received, the aim was to get more than 800 responses by deadline on Saturday.

"Meeting the 800 target would provide a strong voice from regional business, therefore we are offering to complete the survey by telephone up to 7pm at night,” Ms Brownie said.

The online survey can be accessed by visiting www.quen.com.au or by phoning 40312970.

Responses are sought from a wide range of businesses, from farms, tourism and mining through to those servicing the general community such as butchers, bakers, hairdressers, accountants, health professionals, hotels, cafes and supermarkets.
